The painting: Looking directly down at the floor we can see a large, round, teal sticker stuck to the floor, over paving slabs. The sticker is worn and peeled. Several lines of text can be made out:
'Stay Safe Sheff.... [tear]
Play your par... [tear]
stay apart... [tear]
A memory of the social distancing that was require in the UK with Sheffield's own flavour, 2 metres between people or 1 metre with risk mitigation. The reference image for this painting was taken some point in 2022. Far enough away in time for the sticker no longer to be needed, but a reminder of what became a norm for a period of time.
